Milestone: Launch of the inPROBE production line
February 10, 2023
Behind us is the first historic launch of the inPROBE production line! SDS Optic S.A. will soon be celebrating its first anniversary of debuting on NewConnect. Just before the anniversary, we are pleased to announce the achievement of another milestone on the way to implementing the pilot production of optoelectronic parts for fiber optic biosensors to be used in inPROBE® microprobes.
As part of this milestone, our company received, installed, set up, and tested the functionality of the equipment and machines for the planned pilot production. Subsequently, we conducted a complete commissioning with the involvement of the manufacturers' specialized services, in accordance with previously developed designs and structural assumptions.
"In the next stage of the process, we will begin calibration, setting, and refining production processes aimed at the complete transfer of technology from the laboratory level to the semi-industrial production level. At the same time, the development of full technological documentation and the certification of the complete manufacturing process for optoelectronic (photonic) parts of fiber optic biosensors for use in our inPROBE® technology platform will be ongoing. We also foresee further development of the R&D team in the photonics field. We plan to complete these tasks by the end of Q3 2023. Earlier, we already secured the capability for independent production of biological, chemical, and bioengineering components, and the milestone just achieved marks the next step toward obtaining production independence at the semi-industrial scale, which in our opinion will add value to the technology commercialization process, including during the search for business partners." – says Marcin Staniszewski, CEO of SDS Optic S.A. and the Technology Director coordinating work on the pilot production.
Since its debut on NewConnect in March 2022, SDS Optic has reached a number of milestones. We continuously inform the market about the implementation of various activities related to the development of the inPROBE® technology. The key events worth mentioning include:
- •the launch of specialized clean room facilities at the company's headquarters, located in the ECOTECH-Complex Center in Lublin
- •initiation of Phase I clinical trials of a fiber-optic microsensor aimed at confirming the safety of its application in the diagnosis of patients with HER2-positive and HER2-negative breast cancer
- •the establishment of the Scientific Council, which includes distinguished experts with international experience
- •completion of the investment phase related to the implementation of pilot production of optoelectronic components for fiber-optic biosensors intended for use in inPROBE microsensors
- •the registration of a subsidiary in the US, which represents a formal step toward achieving the next milestone: opening an R&D center in this market
- •signing of an agreement for advisory services in the process of acquiring a strategic partner interested in the commercialization of the inPROBE technology platform with the renowned entity Clairfield International, headquartered in New York
