SDS Optic S.A. will get support from the German government through the Medical Forge 2023 program

On March 27, 2023, our company signed an agreement with the German company biosaxony Management GmbH, based in Leipzig, for the participation of the Issuer in the Medical Forge Leipzig acceleration program. As part of the program, the company will receive support with a total value of EUR 214,000. The aim of the program is to assist in the implementation of innovative technologies, such as inPROBE, into the German market.

The signing of the agreement with biosaxony marks the culmination of a multi-month, multi-stage qualification process. As a result, SDS Optic S.A. was selected as one of eight companies chosen to participate in the 2023 edition, evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • significance of the clinical need
  • market potential
  • team
  • alignment of goals with MEDICAL FORGE
  • clarity of communication

The Medical Forge Leipzig program, co-financed by the government of the Federal Republic of Germany and coordinated by Biosaxony, supports startups and innovative companies in bringing medical products to the German healthcare market more quickly. This personalized 12-month program focuses on the specific needs of young medical technology companies. It also aims to promote innovative solutions and help build relationships with clinics. Medical Forge brings together renowned educational, medical, and business institutions, including Leipzig University Hospital, Germany’s oldest hospital Sankt Georg, the Helios and Sana clinic networks, as well as global companies such as HP and B. Braun.

SDS Optic gets support from German accelerator program Medical Forge 2023

As part of the acceleration program, the Company, with a contribution of EUR 21,000, will gain access to services provided by the Biosaxony partner network worth EUR 189,000, as well as additional funding of EUR 25,000. The total amount of support, as stated in the signed agreement, amounts to EUR 214,000.

The agreement with biosaxony provides support for SDS Optic in the process of introducing the inPROBE technology to the German market. This includes the development of technical, legal, and commercialization documentation for the medical device, as well as promotion of the company. Biosaxony also offers access to laboratory and office infrastructure in Leipzig, along with personal consulting, mentoring, access to advanced training, and many other complementary services. As part of the planned activities, the initiative also involves establishing contact with a network of German clinics to obtain valuable feedback on the development and commercialization of the technology, tailored to the needs of Western European markets.

The main goals of SDS Optic as part of their participation in the MEDICAL FORGE 2023 program are:

  • The promotion of inPROBE technology on the German market and other foreign markets
  • Education of end users (clinics, doctors) and potential partners
  • In-depth analysis of the medical device market in Germany
  • Development of inPROBE and adaptation to end-user needs
  • Development of a risk management strategy
  • Adapting quality management processes to meet the requirements of the German market
  • Building a network of contacts with German clinics, hospitals, and laboratories
  • Building a network of contacts for future commercialization and distribution of devices
  • Training to enhance the competencies of SDS Optic S.A. staff
