Investor Day at SDS Optic 2023
September 20, 2023
Investor Day at SDS Optic is behind us! It's time to summarize the event. The event was held in a hybrid format. Over 100 people watched us online, thanks to Strefa Inwestorów. At the same time, more than 80 guests visited our laboratories in Lublin in person! Participants had the opportunity to learn about the stages of developing the groundbreaking inPROBE® microsensor and to meet the SDS Optic Management Board and key team members in action. Right at the start of this article, we want to thank everyone for attending and for your support.
Background of the event
SDS Optic S.A. made its debut on the NewConnect market just over a year ago, on March 15, 2022. Since then, we have significantly developed our technology, our team, as well as our market communication practices and investor relations. Anyone following us has access not only to ESPI and EBI reports but also to regular social media updates, videos on our YouTube channel, and emails sent via our newsletter. We strive to continually improve both our practices and the operations of the Company. In terms of technology, in addition to our qualified team, we also draw knowledge and experience from the Scientific Advisory Board established some time ago. When it comes to market relations, alongside our in-house IR department and internal competencies, we are supported by the cc group agency and Navigator Capital Group. However, our most valuable source of information continues to be our shareholders. It was our investors who inspired the organization of this event. With the help of their surveys, we jointly selected the date and time of the event. Ultimately, it was the feedback from our shareholders that helped us prepare a relevant agenda.

The idea for Investor Day at SDS Optic S.A. was conceived many months ago. Our main goal and the idea behind this event was to show our investors that behind every current report or social media post, there are people, competencies, and infrastructure that together allow us to achieve all the planned milestones. Investor Day 2023 was highlighted by the premiere of a new promotional video for SDS Optic S.A. and the inPROBE® technology. Discover the story, current goals, and explore the future of our company. Watch the video and learn how, according to Professor Wojciech Polkowski, our inPROBE® microprobe could become a magic wand, enabling doctors to instantly determine the type of cancer they are dealing with and the most appropriate treatment to apply.
Preparations
We did not want to organize just another ordinary shareholders' meeting. From the very beginning of the Company’s existence, we assumed that our Shareholders deserve an entirely new quality of relationship—full transparency and a real opportunity to influence what happens in the Company. As a result, we launched a pre-event IR campaign in which we asked shareholders and investors when they would like to meet and what they expected from such an event. The results of the campaign exceeded our expectations. By the end of July this year, we had received over 100 closed responses regarding the preferred date of the Investor Day and 50 substantive pieces of feedback concerning the structure of the event and expected content. In response to our shareholders' expectations, a special agenda was prepared. We created a dedicated event website with a registration form. Participation in the event was possible both in person, on-site, and online, thanks to our Media Patron – Strefa Inwestora. One week before the event, registration officially closed, and over 80 people confirmed their attendance! At the same time, more than 100 people signed up for the online broadcast. The turnout on Investor Day at SDS Optic was excellent, with almost all registered participants showing up. Thank you!
What was the format of the Investor Day at SDS Optic?

At "Good Morning," at 10:00 AM, we welcomed our guests with a small gift and invited them to a morning networking session over coffee and tasty snacks. Many participants had traveled from quite far, so this short moment before the official start allowed them to catch their breath and get to know each other a little better. In the networking area, we showcased two inPROBE® devices. Investors had the opportunity to closely examine both the detectors and the disposable fiber-optic biosensors, which are the key components of our medical device.
At 11:00 AM, we began the official presentation part. The event was opened by the full Management Team, consisting of:
- •Magdalena Staniszewska, Professor (KUL), Eng, Director of Research and Development
- •Marcin Staniszewski, MSc, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Technology Engineer
- •Mateusz Sagan, MBA, Chief Operating Officer and Business Development Director
After welcoming the guests, Marzena Strok-Sadło, President of the Lublin Medicine Cluster, took the floor. The Cluster is a platform for collaboration in the field of medical practice and science between higher education institutions, research and development units, healthcare entities, entrepreneurs, business environment institutions, and local government units. SDS Optic has been strongly supporting this initiative for years, being an active member of the Cluster. The President briefly talked about the space being created for the collaboration between science and business, the current activities of the Cluster, and our joint projects. From this point, we would like to warmly thank you for many years of cooperation, support, and presence at the most important events for the Company.

In the presentation part and the Q&A session, investors participated on-site in Lublin as well as online via their computers and smartphones. The full transmission of the investor presentation, including the Q&A session, is now available on our official YouTube channel:
During the event, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the specifics of the market and the creation of medical products that combine biology with physics and chemistry. The development of biotechnology projects and advanced medical technologies consists of many components. That is why it was so important for us that each shareholder could see firsthand how our process of creating the groundbreaking inPROBE microsensor works "behind the scenes." We believe we have successfully achieved this goal.

For the team at SDS Optic S.A., the most important goal remains delivering a product to the market that is safe, effective, and validated through clinical trials, as well as tailored to the needs of users. Our vision is to increase cancer survival rates by 30% by 2030. For this reason, at every stage of the project, we carefully consider all feedback and possible solutions. We continuously adapt to the environment and choose the development paths that will ultimately best serve patients, doctors, and shareholders.

Company tour
After the presentation and the Q&A session, we concluded the online broadcast and invited the guests to lunch. After satisfying their hunger, a series of tours around our company began. Each participant received an ID badge with their name, marked with a specific color. There were 5 colors and corresponding groups. Each group participated in 3 mini-tours, closely observing the process of creating the inPROBE microsensor.
Director of Research and Development Magdalena Staniszewska, Director of Research and Development, presented to the investors the biological-chemical laboratorywhere unique, proprietary biological elements are created. These elements are then attached to the tip of an optical fiber. They are responsible for binding with a specific cancer biomarker or another studied molecule.
Marcin Staniszewski, CEO showed the shareholders the area around the clean room facilities, where optical elements of the biosensor are produced. This is a pilot production line that we created this year, which will enable SDS Optic to achieve production independence with a capacity of around 50,000 probes per year.
The Chief Operating Officer and Business Development Director, Mateusz Sagan, guided our guests through the SDS Optic offices and the engineering and optoelectronic laboratory, wwhere all the technology components are assembled and prepared for further use, at this stage under clinical conditions.
Event summary and an additional Q&A session for the persistent

The last part of our Investor Day was a summary of the entire event and a Q&A session for the most dedicated participants. SDS Optic regularly participates in industry events, such as trade fairs and scientific conferences. This allows us to stay on top of industry trends and, as one of the first, gain access to the latest information from the world of medicine and biotechnology. We decided to prepare a few additional slides. Mateusz Sagan shared the latest updates with the participants, straight from events such as the BIO International Convention in Boston and ASCO in Chicago.
Investor Day – Summary and Thanks
Investor Day at SDS Optic is behind us. Months of preparation resulted in an extraordinary meeting with extraordinary people who support the team every day in executing the inPROBE® project – the shareholders of SDS Optic S.A.
